From pumpkins and apple cider to sweaters, fall marks a new beginning for the Buffalonians. With each change of seasons comes a new set of activities and fun that make this season a personal favorite for many people. Of course, I can’t forget to mention, it’s football season, folks! While this is a big time to celebrate our favorite sport, for many it also means saying ‘yes’ to more pizza, wings and beer. While all of this is good in moderation, it’s important not to lose sight of all the wellness work being done this summer, whether it’s spending more time outdoors or a general raise. of the activity. Responsibility might sound like a scary word, but it can actually be fun! The Project Best Life team sat down with experts to give you some tips on how to stay motivated this fall.
A good way to stay motivated is to take enjoyable group lessons. The vibe at BikeorBar is unlike any “gym” I’ve been to. With music moving and full-length mirror-lined walls, this place is sure to bring out your hard side and remind you of what you are capable of. Increase your heart rate, and maybe even dance a little while you’re at it! Brit Leo, co-owner of BikeorBar shed light on what makes BikeorBar different from any gym,
“We launched BikeorBar almost 10 years ago now. We just started with indoor cycling and from there we blossomed and grew by starting to offer other courses. We still do indoor cycling; we are still doing the helm. We do step lessons, pump lessons and even twerk lessons.
Each class is fun for all ages and with the help of an instructor, the workout is the one that will make you leave each class sweaty and smiling! Although the classes are very effective, it is the connection that is the most important in this gym. From truly caring instructors to informative and helpful staff, BikeorBar has it all.
“When I went to a box gym and been there for a hundred years, I promise you I never made a friend. I went, I did my thing. I left. That was it. I met so many people and friends and made so many amazing relationships at the BikeorBar. It’s because it’s a smaller studio and you really are following these everyday. run with people and then you just start chatting with them afterwards I just think the environment belongs to friendships and relationships.
Having a place that encourages relationships that are focused on achieving all of your health goals makes it easier to get out of bed to outperform that job. With the winter months ahead, prepare for success now. With the BikeorBar team, I promise, it’s as easy as riding a bike!

Playing sports can also save your life. Literally. Nationally, 81% of women and 43% of men reported experiencing some form of assault in their lifetime, according to the National Sexual Violence Resource Center. Being strong is as much about mental strength as it is physical strength and at Western New York Mixed Martial Arts and Fitness (WNY MMA) they cover it all. Gym manager Kate Allen taught us some basics and shared some insights on what makes this gym one of a kind. While there is a plethora of classes on offer, from boxing to jiu-jitsu (and everything in between), there are classes for everyone – kids, teens, and adults. Whether you are looking for a new hobby or some self defense skills, look no further than WNY MMA.
“We like to say that we have countless training options and one training community because whatever your goals are, we have something that will help you achieve them. But the best thing about it is that we are a community and everyone supports each other, empowering each other. Equally important is why everyone is here, and it creates a really wonderful culture and environment that helps people stay responsible for coming and achieving their various goals.
Strength is a concept that goes far beyond mere physicality. Being determined in your moves and learning from an opponent’s progress helps strengthen the mind to resolve a multitude of situations that you may find yourself in day to day life.
“The beauty of it all is that you don’t have to be bigger or stronger than the person you’re up against. It’s all about leverage and physics, and that will allow you to be better prepared. Of course, size and strength are always going to play a role, but it really levels the playing field. Especially for women, because generally if we are in a situation where we have to defend ourselves, it will probably be against someone. who is bigger or stronger.
The environment at the gym is one of acceptance and motivation. Being in an atmosphere that fosters a healthy mind and body, both from the community and from the teachers, is badly needed in the months to come. Discover a class and you might just win a new kind of family.
