How to travel fast – new world wiki guide

Latest edition:

Fast travel is one of the New World’s most useful features. Do you have some Petalcaps to find or do you want to go fishing in a certain place? Just get closer instead of walking. It’s a little different from other MMORPGs, because you can’t just open your map, choose a destination, and get there. And there are no mounts either.

The game has two ways of moving around Aeternum: using Azoth and remembering an inn.

The primary fast travel method, which requires Azoth, allows you to travel to any Colony or Spirit Sanctuary you have visited before, but only when you are already in a Colony Area or Shrine. The cost varies depending on your faction level, how much you carry, and how far it is. The booster at a hostel gets you back to a settlement for free, but it is capped at once per hour and you must have already checked into that specific hostel.

For fast travel, open your map and zoom out until the golden settlement icons appear. Then click on where you want to go and the fast travel option will appear on the right side, allowing you to choose whether you want to spend Azoth or Recall.

Important Note: You can only carry a maximum of 1000 Azoth. If you hit the cap, any extra you accumulate will be wasted, so be sure to spend it regularly by traveling fast.

You won’t be able to get your hands on certain Azoths until you complete the Commitment to the cause quest that instructs you to take on certain missions for the faction you have chosen. You will receive the quest at the start of your adventure, taking only an hour or two to complete. It will reward you with the currency once you are done.

After that, you’ll start to see Azoth appear as a quest reward quite often. Traveling fast is something that you will probably do more than you think, so it is a good idea to complete as many quests and side quests as possible.

Level 20 enemies will also start dropping Azoth at random, which means you’ll be able to easily farm the currency once you reach a level high enough to take on them. And at level 20, you’ll be able to farm Azoth in Corrupted Breaches. To help you level up quickly, be sure to check out our Leveling Guide!

Benefits of mining Azoth

Mining Azoth is a random boon that gives you an over 30% chance to gain 1 Azoth when using a gathering tool with the boon. To get a tool with Azoth Extraction, you need to craft one in a Level 2 Workshop in a Colony.

Before you can craft, you need materials. Iron tools are a good place to start and will last you a while, but you can also craft tools from Flint, Steel, Star Metal, and Orichalcum if you like, depending on your mining level. , sure.

The ore is extracted from the veins which is then melted into an ingot. You may also need leather and some sort of wood depending on the tool you are making. Gather enough to make several.

From there, there are two ways to increase your chances of gaining the advantage. You can spend 15 Azoth to increase your chances of getting a tool, but that’s not a guarantee that it will be Azoth Extraction, so it’s up to you if you want to take the risk. And if you have it, the Drop of Azoth Oil special resource guarantees the benefit. You get it by collecting the Blightroot.

Once you have what you need, craft the tool of your choice until you see Azoth Extraction in the item info.

Callback to a hostel is your free way to get fast travel, but it’s very limited. Each colony has an inn that can be registered, making that specific inn your recall point. You can only register one at a time.

The downside is that it can only be used once per hour, but you can return to your hostel from anywhere on the map, which you can’t do when traveling fast using Azoth.

To call back to an inn, click on a settlement on the map, then you will see the option on the right side. You can also check how much time has passed since your last reminder here.
