Recognizing this huge growth in the concert economy, LinkedIn announced the launch of a new benefit for freelancers called the LinkedIn Services Marketplace, which is an outgrowth and rebranding of the heavier LinkedIn ProFinder. The User-Friendly Marketplace is a suite of tools and products that help service providers and freelancers connect with potential prospects. This set of offers will help both full-time freelancers and those busy with their side work to secure client projects.

The advantage of this offer is the size of the LinkedIn membership. A recent survey revealed interesting dynamics in the services market. 82% of those who hire or have hired a freelance writer or service provider say getting recommended by someone in their professional network is the best way to find a good candidate. And membership in LinkedIn’s professional network approaches one billion people worldwide.

The LinkedIn marketplace helps with the match. While most of us seek the advice of our friends and colleagues when hiring a freelance writer, the new platform brings together the needs of freelancers and potential clients who want to work together through the same extended network. Members will be able to create businesses and find the right resources with the assurance of a larger community:
